Information Domain🔗

Purpose🔗

The information domain (Informationsverbund) describes the scope for IT-Grundschutz and can also be reused in other modules such as ISO 27001.
The subject-matter relevance controls in which modules the same scope is visible.

Usage🔗

  1. Open the ISMS / IT-Grundschutz module and switch to the Information Domain section.
  2. Click Create to add a new information domain.
  3. Enter a name, description, and a clear delimitation (e.g. locations, organisational units).
  4. Set the subject-matter relevance if the scope should apply to multiple modules (e.g. IT-Grundschutz and ISO 27001).
  5. Add the relevant processes, hardware, infrastructure, software, etc. from the organisation to the information domain.

The information domain thereby defines the scope for modelling, protection-needs assessment, risk analysis, and audit.
